At fifteen, he has no wind fury to help him fly, no fire fury to light his lamps. Far from city politics in the Calderon Valley, the boy Tavi struggles with his lack of furycrafting. Now their descendants call it home can bind elemental to them to wield their power. Thousands of years ago, a Roman legion was lost and transported to this magical world. This is Sci Fi but it has a lost in time commander who brings back lost space tactics and uses them to wipe the floor (space?) with the opposition. The MC of this story wakes up from hibernation to find that he has been hailed a war hero in his absense and that all the competent military commanders have died and tactics no longer exist The MC is more phyiscially OP than mentally a great tactician, but hes good at everything in general His flaw is basically that he doesn't understand people well. This books is the ultimate Mary Sue charecter. Lots of people don't like OSC the author's views and politics, but they dont start to show up in the book until later in the series.įree the Darkness (King's Dark Tidings, #1) It follows Ender's #2 who has all of his tactical genius but not so much his people reading skills. Its kind of like Harry Potter in space, but Harry Potter is hyper competent at squad tactics. He will grow up fast.Įnder is the ultimate tactician. Ender Wiggin is six years old when it begins. The only way to find out is to throw Ender into ever harsher training, to chip away and find the diamond inside, or destroy him utterly. The result of genetic experimentation, Ender may be the military genius Earth desperately needs in a war against an alien enemy seeking to destroy all human life. TitleĪndrew "Ender" Wiggin thinks he is playing computer simulated war games he is, in fact, engaged in something far more desperate. This made me realize I don't have a genre tag for Military Genius, I will need to add that because its a trope I like. Heres all the books I've read that I think fit what you want in one way or another. CAN'T WAIT since its focused on Janus) Any offers? I'll honestly buy the first book of most series if it's recommended and the look of it fits my like. (I haven't actually read book 5 yet, its ordered and coming tomorrow. The character doesn't have to be PERFECT. Unfortunately, he isn't a Janus, and the story is too Spread out with alot less "fantasy" feeling, with romantic motives etc. I made a post here a while back, and the main recommendation i got was the red knight. But i've not found similar books anywhere. ![]() The mystery around him, the secret motives, the intelligence. I plan to finish the series for sure, however it doesn't satisfy my " Mary Sue " Itch, and offers too many POV's for my liking. I've started the Red knight, and enjoy it. Looking for a book series that has characters like: Tamas ( Powder Mage trilogy ) Janus Bet Vhalnich (Shadow campaigns)
